ALIGN: Week 1

As we have concluded the first week of our 21 Day Prayer and Fasting, let’s take time to reflect on what it means to align our lives with God’s will. Fasting isn’t just about denying ourselves—it’s about making space for God to move in us, speak to us, and guide us into deeper obedience.  

Romans 12:2 reminds us:  

2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing, and perfect will."

When we fast, we step away from distractions and lean into transformation. It's a chance to surrender our plans, desires, and worries to God, trusting Him to lead us where He wants us to go. Aligning with His will means embracing:  

  • Faith: Trusting that His plans are higher than ours.  

  • Obedience: Listening to His voice and responding with action.  

  • Surrender: Laying down what we hold on to tightly and trusting His provision.  


Philippians 4:8

8 Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.”

During these next two weeks, let’s continue to ask ourselves:  

1. Am I seeking God’s will above my own?  

2. Are there areas in my life where I need to surrender control?  

3. How can I allow God’s Word to shape my thoughts and decisions?  

Matthew 6:33-34

33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

Let’s continue to press on with open hearts, ready to hear from God and take steps closer to Him. Together, as we align with His will, we can experience the fullness of His plans for our lives and our church community.
